I am an ongoing seafarer working as a motorman under the South Pacific Marine Service, I have been working on abroad ship in the engine department for more than 4 years. During that period, I have experienced working in maintenance and repairs of engines motors, pumps, tanks and other engine department duties required. Within my job I have been doing the sounding in checking the temperature, dissembled and maintaining bilge tank, the cylinder head and service tank. I have also have been experiencing purifier maintenance of the main engine in order to avoid such problem that could decelerate the movement of the ship, and doing other duties in the engine room under the assistance of my 3rd engineer. From what I had experienced as a motorman most of the roles and responsibilities in the engine department on aboard ship, I am willing to do with my great confidence and competence.
Since 2000 before I had joined the South Pacific Marine Service, I had been working on the Japanese fishing vessels where I first became an ordinary engineer worked in the engine department and worked under the assistance of the first engineer in doing the engine maintenance, checking and cleaning of oil spilt and checking for the ice-box cooling system to maintain the cooling for the fish preservation. I found out that working in the engine department is very interesting and enjoyable. Therefore I am deciding to continue my duties and need new environment to upgrade my knowledge and skills of what I had had from my previous careers in order to become a professional and competence marine engineer in my life
Currently I am pursuing the Engineering Class 5 at the Marine Training Centre in Kiribati since the beginning of this year and will be end at May this year.
