Banadir Gate was initially established as a shipping agency in Mogadishu to assist ship owners with smooth loading and discharging of their vessels in Mogadishu port and also to assist local shippers and receivers in coordinating with the vessel and the owners. Gradually BG started a trading desk and also got actively involved in operating vessels. At present BG has branches in Dubai, Nairobi, Mogadishu and Singapore and is active in shipping, Trading, construction, logistics and port agency.
